Mental Health Resources
In Crisis
The Fountain Police Department and the El Paso County Sheriff's Department both offer a Behavior Health Connect Unit, pronounced Beacon. The BHCON Unit pairs a Law Enforcement Officer with a Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician for a coordinated response to emergency calls that are mental-health related. Simply call 911 and ask for the BHCON Unit. This unique resource has saved many lives.
Tricare & Mental Healthcare
-
If you are an active duty service member (ADSM) seeking care in the TRICARE network, you must get a referral and pre-authorization. You don’t need a referral or pre-authorization if you seek outpatient mental health services at a military hospital or clinic.
-
If you are not an ADSM, you don’t need to get a referral or prior authorization for any outpatient mental health (except psychoanalysis) and substance use disorder (SUD) care. This includes services like therapy and counseling.
